What makes this shake a healthier alternative to a good old-fashioned Mud Slide at your local diner?
First, it’s completely dairy-free. Instead of ice cream, heavy cream, and whipped cream, we are using coconut water and some COCONUT WHIPPED CREAM made from coconut milk.
Second, while our Kahlúa Shake is creamy and dreamy and sweet, it’s also hiding two full scoops of egg white protein, which means that you’re fueling up on high-quality protein while you indulge.
Third, traditional Kahlúa contains corn syrup (EWWWWW!) and you know how I feel about corn syrup. Our Kahlúa is made with coconut palm sugar, so that even our indulgence is 100 percent wholesome and nutritious!

Note: It’s always a good idea to keep bananas in the freezer for wholesome shakes such as this. I usually have a bunch or two out on the counter, and as soon as I see any getting soft and brown, I freeze them. When you want to make this shake, or any blended drink, simply run the banana under warm water for a few seconds, then carefully use a sharp knife to remove the frozen banana peel. Break the banana in half and throw it into the blender.
1 Banana, frozen
1 cup ice cubes
1 cup coconut water
¼ cup KAHLUA
2 scoops high-quality chocolate egg white protein powder
2 tablespoons dark chocolate, melted
COCONUT WHIPPED CREAM
Combine the banana, ice cubes, coconut water, and Kahlúa in a high-speed blender. Blend on high until creamy and smooth.
Top with melted dark chocolate and Coconut Whipped Cream. Throw in a fun straw, sit back, take a sip, and enjoy!
