2 white onions, diced
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons avocado oil
¼ cup sour cream
3 tablespoons Organic Mayo
2 tablespoons natural ketchup (no sugar added)
½ teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon granular Swerve
1 tablespoon pickle, minced
¼ teaspoon onion powder
pinch of sea salt
pinch of black pepper
2 pounds ground beef
¼ cup white onion, minced
1 teaspoon sea salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 tablespoons natural ketchup (no sugar added)
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
6 cups shredded lettuce
2 Tomatoes, chopped
⅓ cup pickles, chopped
Dice the onions and mix with the salt and pepper.
Heat a medium-sized skillet over medium-high heat. Add the avocado oil. Once warmed, add the diced onions. Cook, undisturbed, for about 4 minutes before flipping the onions, to get a sear on both sides.
Once the onions have a nice sear, reduce the heat to medium. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, and add 1 Tablespoon of water every 3 minutes, stirring it in with each addition. Continue to cook and periodically add water until the onions are very tender and have a deep amber color, about 15 minutes.
Set aside to sprinkle over your Double-Double in a bowl!
Combine the spread ingredients in a bowl and set aside to drizzle over your Double-Double in a bowl.
In a large mixing bowl combine the ground beef with the onion, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, ketchup and mustard. Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the beef, breaking it up as it cooks until no pink remains. Drain the skillet if there’s excessive liquid. Stir in half of the shredded cheese. Remove from heat and top with the remaining shredded cheese.
Divide the ground beef into serving bowls along with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, grilled onions and a generous drizzle of spread. Enjoy!
