I will often make this delicious apple pie topping to enjoy as a dessert on it’s own. What’s so fun about this recipe is that you can throw in whatever you want, in whatever amounts you want. The instructions below are a great place to start, but feel free to add more cinnamon or nutmeg, or a little coconut sugar if you want to increase the sweetness. Have fun, go with your instincts and enjoy!
1 tablespoon coconut oil
2 apples, chopped
1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
dash of sea salt
dash of ground nutmeg
¼ cup ground pecans
1 cup apple cider
Place the coconut oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Add the apples and all of the remaining ingredients and cook, mixing often, until very tender. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
