Honey Peanut Butter

Honey peanut butterIt’s B’s birthday this week and since his favorite flavors are peanut butter, coffee and dark chocolate, I’m going to have some fun incorporating all 3 into my next few recipes 🙂

We start with this awesome (EASY!) recipe for homemade Honey Peanut butter. It’s a little salty, a little sweet and a lot delicious. Now I know a lot of you have peanut allergies so feel free to sub in any other nut or seed for the peanuts.

Making nut and seed butters at home is so simple, and the resulting flavors are fresher and more authentic than you’ll get from store bought brands. The sky is the limit when it comes to adding new flavor surprises to your homemade nut and seed butters. You could go classic, and only flavor with sea salt, like this Almond Butter recipe. You could add CHOCOLATE (yes please), like this Chocolate Pecan Butter recipe. Or you could get a little nutty (lol) and add cinnamon and raisins, like this Cinnamon Raisin Cashew Butter recipe.

Anyway you blend up your homemade nut and seed butters be sure to add your own unique twist for a flavor that’s perfectly you! Enjoy 🙂

Honey Peanut Butter

INGREDIENTS
Serves 48 Tablespoons

  • 3 cups roasted, unsalted peanuts
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 Tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon raw honey (add more to taste)
INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Blend all of the ingredients in a food processor until creamy. This can take up to 10 minutes, so when it doubt continue to blend, blend, blend. Enjoy!
