Going Raw, Day 5

Nothing like fermented Chinese tea to get you going in the morning
Day 5 was rather bland.

Lunch was drinkable and delicious
Again, I was too busy to spend time in the kitchen.
And today the leftovers were starting to look less appealing. I can only eat zucchini for so many days in a row.
By lunchtime I was starting to feel like there wasn’t anything interesting for me to eat. Then I decided to make another shake.
I’m starting to understand why Raw food enthusiasts are all about shakes and smoothies. When you are limited to eating raw produce, nuts and seeds, almost everything you put in your mouth is crunchy. The idea of a smooth and filling shake that you simply drink is so welcomed.

- My quick raw dinner
I only had about 20 minutes to prepare dinner tonight, since we were taking an evening drive to Anaheim to wish B’s sister a happy birthday.
-
Breakfast: 1/4 cup of Raw Sprouted Pumpkin seeds and a bottle of Raw Kombucha
-
Lunch: Banana Cinnamon Shake and final Raw Italy leftovers (SO sick of zucchini!)
-
Dinner: Sliced cabbage, fennel, carrots, avocado and Raw Marinara wrapped in large lettuce leaves
I’m realizing that planning meals ahead of time is key in keeping the menu interesting. I can’t wait until the last minute and expect to have a great dinner.
So I’ve resolved to dive back into the raw cookbooks, make a trip to the store and to prepare a satisfying meal tomorrow.
Also I’m eagerly awaiting the arrival of the dehydrator that I ordered earlier this week. Seems like its the equivalent of an oven to the raw foodist, so hopefully my meals will get a boost soon!
